The product of positive collaboration, “Wake Up To The Sound” is an album spanning countries, cultures and communities.
Featuring Bobby Alu on drums/percussion, OJ Newcomb (John Butler Trio/Band Of Frequencies) on bass, Ken Allars (Caravana Sun) on trumpet/keys plus special features from Sol Carroll (Band Of Frequencies/Afro Dizzi Act) on vocals and Taro Terahara on bansuri and more, the album is truly a collective effort exemplifying what can be achieved through human connection.
Captured at Yama-Nui Studio on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast by PaulieB (The Beautiful Girls/Bobby Alu/George), “Wake Up To The Sound” is a sonic journey in which the magic of the location can be heard - from thunderstorms to singing tropical birdlife - yet will transport listeners far beyond their own backyard.
With 4 singles from the album already attracting regular spins on Triple J’s Roots N All and earning them a nomination for West Australian Music’s Best Regional Act, along with supports for Xavier Rudd, The Teskey Brothers, The Jungle Giants, Ash Grunwald & more, Blue Child Collective will be delving deeper into the concept of the record with a documentary titled “The Art Of Sound”, to be released in 2019.
Eye Of The Needle

Weaving the story of a lighthouse keeper overseeing a shipping lane infamously named the “Eye Of The Needle” from his outlook at Cape Otway, this latest track is a hooky roots-reggae tune featuring guest vocals from Shannon Sol Carroll, frontman and salty seadog of Sunshine Coast favourites Band Of Frequencies.
Accompanied by a cinematic music video by David Owen Blackley shot on the stormy South West tip of Australia, and featuring work from Dutch animator Chris Liefting, the video recreates a world existing from the treacherous art of navigation, and a lighthouse keeper sent stir crazy by the sight of it.
Featuring also Bobby Alu on drums, OJ Newcomb (Afro Dizzi Act) on bass, Ken Allars (Caravana Sun) on trumpet and PaulieB (The Beautiful Girls) on keys/percussion, this is a tune with groove.

An upbeat, groove-based dance tune featuring skanky guitar and punchy horns, “Wake Up To The Sound” is a lively party-vibe track which will reveal the cosmic doorways you never realised you’ve always known. Carving out vivid imagery with “sonic sound-scaping”, BCC dissects the nature of sound with this light-hearted yet philosophical exploration of vibration, provoking you to think about music and life in a fresh new light.

Saturn Saw The Seaside LP

Captured by Jean-Bernard Rongiconi at Studio L’Angelina in the mountains of Corsica (FR), “Saturn Saw The Seaside” is an odyssey of sound, story and sentiment. Following a man on his whirlwind voyage through the cosmos, SSTS delves largely into the themes of connection and consciousness, along with discussing many elements of the universal journey and humanity’s path within this.
Sonically diverse, the record explores and deconstructs the genres of folk and funk, with flavours of who-knows-what sewn throughout as a result of international collaboration and cross-pollination; in essence, a product of collective inspiration and manifestation.
Following the release of “Blue Child Collective” and “Rivermouth” in 2015, Blue Child Collective continues to grow and evolve with their latest release, and look to develop their creative platform to benefit artists of all natures - along with the world as a whole - through continual collaboration, experimentation and exploration.

A 7 track CD of songs centred around nature, direction and the journey, "Rivermouth" is Blue Child Collective's second offering to date. .
Recorded with Dave Mann at the Bush Shack, 2km from the Rivermouth, Margaret River, WA, before spending the following 4 months touring, this is a record representing a moment in time, symbolic of our innate ability to shape our lives in the light we wish to live them.
A unique fusion of Folk, Blues, Jazz and Groove, "Rivermouth" blends many different musical elements from each of the members' diverse backgrounds and styles to create a record which covers an enchantingly large sonic spectrum and opens many doors to the direction next year's full length album will take!

The debut release from Blue Child Collective, this 6-track EP revolves largely around the ocean and consciousness of our natural environment, bringing listeners’ attention back to the moment and showing them an appreciation for the world around them through the clear and concise lyrical content running through the length of it.
Recorded in Karnup, WA, late 2014 in all live, full takes with minimal tracking to preserve the rawness of the production, this is a record that represents the purpose of Blue Child Collective from the outset, and one which embodies the energy they intend to continue harnessing and releasing through their music to come!
